Summary:
The NDT Field Quality Specialist II performs NDT and Welding Inspections, checks, tests, and sampling procedures of incoming materials, parts, and components used in the manufacture and fabrication of partially assembled or finished components.
Experienced-level position - demonstrates the skills and knowledge to properly perform specific calibrations, specific tests, and with prior written approval of the NDT Level III,perform specific interpretations and evaluations for acceptance or rejection and document the results in accordance with specific approved procedures.
The Specialist IIshall be able to follow approved non-destructive inspection procedures and shall receive the necessary instruction or supervision from a certified NDT Level II or NDT Level IIIindividual.

Essential Functions:
Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT's Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment withour Vision, Values, and Mission Sets up and calibrates non-destructive testing equipment Conducts tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDT methods of Inspection Establishes techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations Applies testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results Maintains all controlled document files and test records in a timely and accurate manner Monitors critical equipment and instrumentation to ensure proper operation and calibration Participates in the construction and/or revision of SOPs for the inspection function Evaluates problems and makes initial recommendations for possible corrective action Participates in client safety initiatives, incident investigations, etc.
Assists in qualifying welding personnel Requires regular and punctual employee attendance Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards Performs other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of welding and welding inspections Knowledge of safety practices as they pertain to welding, cutting, and joining processes Basic knowledge of Non-destructive Testing methods Basic knowledge of specification and drawing interpretations Basic knowledge of dimensional inspection equipment/hand tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance Basic computer skills including MS Office products Demonstrated written and oral communication skills Ability to perform welding inspections Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned NDT tasks and interprets results Ability to use standard non-destructive testing tools and calibration devices Ability to read and comprehend blueprints Ability to provide input and suggestions to bring a greater sense of quality to both internal and external customers Ability to use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards Ability and desire to continue ongoing training and education to maintain certifications and develop new skills and gain knowledge Ability to interact and work with individuals and groups Education and
Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent with specialized/technical training in Welding Technology and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) required One or more years of experience required; more than three years of work-related experience preferred Welding inspection experience required Experience working in heavy equipment environment preferred NDT Level I or II in multiple NDT methods preferred NDT Magnetic Particle Testing Level I required NDT Visual Testing Level I preferred Welding Certifications preferred Supervisory
